How to Spot Opportunities So They Don’t Pass You By

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

One of the easiest things you can do to experience more success and cash in your business and make more sales is the skill of seeing opportunities when they come your way. Most people live their lives unconsciously going through life thinking that there aren’t opportunities for them when in fact opportunities are everywhere—they just aren’t aware of them.

Here are some tips to recognize opportunities so they don’t pass you by:

1. Be open to opportunities and keep your mind open. This sounds basic but 99% of the population is not open to opportunities nor do they keep an open mind. Most people carry a mindset that says things like “Nothing good ever happens to me.’’ And guess what? Nothing good happens to them because that is exactly what they believe.

When you have an open mind you allow yourself to attract opportunities because you tell your subconscious mind and God that you WANT something different in your life that you have now. As a result of your open mind and being open to opportunities they can now flow to you.

2. Pay attention to what is going on around you. Many times opportunities are right in front of you but if you aren’t paying attention to what is going on around you odds are you won’t see them. Pay close attention to articles you read on the internet or in print, to what is said in conversations, suggestions that friends or family members make to you—pay attention to everything that occurs or enters your life because it’s all coming to you for a REASON.

3. Know what you WANT so you are in 100% alignment with opportunities as they present themselves to you. If you aren’t 100% clear about what you want in your life and business it will be virtually impossible for you to recognize opportunities as they come your way.

For me personally, I know I love speaking and this is my true love and desire for me professionally. As a result I’m very clued in and aware of speaking opportunities no matter how small they might be because it’s what I love to do. Think of what you want—what you really, really want—and then became aware of opportunities from that standpoint and you will be amazed at what will come to you if you are open minded and pay attention to what is going on around you.

4. Never forget that opportunities are ALWAYS EVERYWHERE. You just must learn to be aware of them.

Don’t let any more amazing opportunities for you slip by. Get and remain open minded to opportunities so they CAN present themselves to you. Pay close attention to everything that happens around you and of course, know what you want so you are always 100% aligned with the opportunities that present themselves to you.

5 Tips to living an Empowered Life

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

We’re living in an age of rapid growth & development in the world. As a result of this speed and hecticness you need to implement mindset tools to help you excel to Brilliant Success. Here are a few tips that will empower you in your life and business if you will internalize them:

  1. You and you alone are responsible for the results that manifest in both your business and your life. This is hard to recognize at first because we want to blame somebody or something else most of the time when we don’t manifest the results we want. For instance, it’s easy to blame “The Economy” when business dips. After all the entire world is in a depression, right? In fact, there are many entrepreneurs experiencing their best year ever (seriously!) because of smart planning and manoeuvring when others are languishing and complaining.
  2. Learn from the past, plan for the future and live in the present. Many of us tend to wallow too long in our past mistakes or perceived failures. Make it a practice of quickly acknowledging where you made an error, correct your error and move right along forward. Our mind likes to play tricks on us and likes to keep us down for some bizarre reason. Ignore your mind when it sends you these false messages. Say, “Thank-You for that” and move on.
  3. Look around you every day for opportunities. Opportunities are all around us each and every day. When you are clear, focused and have a vision in your mind and on your Vivid Vision Board of what you want and where you are going you will find yourself seeing opportunities that are just waiting for you. When you are hurried, negative and toxic you won’t see the opportunities all around you.
  4. Be ready to learn the lessons given to you every day (or almost every day) in your life. Life throws us lessons almost every day. It’s up to us to accept the lesson brought before us so we can move on or we’ll keep receiving the same lesson over and over until we get it. If you live life knowing this and begin to look forward to the lessons that are given to you it will cause you to live more excitedly, joyfully and purposefully.
  5. You have the answers inside of you. All the answers to life’s questions are inside of you. You KNOW what to do. If you will get quiet once a day and listen to that still, small voice inside you and follow your instinct you will do the right thing that you should do at the right moment. All you need to do is get still, quiet, listen and trust yourself that you KNOW the answer to whatever situation you are facing.

Practice these mindsets and see how they will keep you on the path to Brilliant Success.

Are You Ready For A Mentor or Coach?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Personally I’ve been using a life or business coach almost consistently since 1997–before it was “cool” to have a coach! Hiring a coach/mentor has always helped me focus laser like on what I’ve wanted to achieve and helped me reach it. I can certainly work without a coach or mentor; however, I can’t reach my goals as fast without using one. For me time equals money and I want to save time by reaching my goals as fast as possible.

The world is changing daily. It’s impossible to keep up with everything you must know to grow your business. Using a mentor or coach is a GREAT WAY to make sure you get the information, structure, accountability and support you need for your business to grow fast!

I’ve made a checklist for you to see if hiring a mentor is right for you in 2010:

  1. You want support and accountability in reaching your goals in 2010. A good mentor or coach helps you stay on course and stay laser focused on YOUR business goals. Whenever you wander off your path, your coach will help get you back on track.
  2. You want to experience amazing breakthroughs in your business. Sometimes we get stuck in our “stuff” and can’t see ahead. You know the saying “You can’t see the forest for the trees”–or something like that(!) A good mentor helps you easily see your big picture and helps you get unstuck a lot faster than not having one.
  3. You want to learn from someone who’s already been there who can give you shortcuts and support to make reaching success easier for you. I personally only hire mentors/coaches who are ahead of me in what I want to achieve. By doing this I take advantage of what they’ve already learned, implemented and succeeded in doing. Because of what they’ve already done, I can do likewise.
  4. You want to reach your Brilliant Success quickly. You don’t want to re-invent the wheel. Enough said.
  5. You want to use systems, checklists, and templates to make growing your business easier than it has been in the past. Ditto.
  6. You want (and need) specific and targeted INFORMATION to help you succeed in your business. I know specifically I attend key conferences and purchase important, strategic information products that help me grow my own business. If you hire me as your mentor and coach I share with you only productive strategies that work for me–ultimately saving you loads of time.
  7. You want to step up and play big. You want to stop “hiding out.” Too many Phenomenal Women Entrepreneurs (is this you?) hide out by not playing a bigger game. They are fearful and scared of really making themselves and their products and services known. If you’re tired of doing this and you’re ready to serve more people doing what you love, then now is the time to stop hiding out and to step up to the plate and go for it! It’s only when you grow your business (and serve others) that you grow yourself.

As a marketing coach, I cannot market my services unless I am being coached myself. This is an integrity issue I feel is important for me to live. Currently I have hired 2 Platinum Coaches to help get me to where I want to be in 2010–which is a BIG JUMP. One of my coaches is Elizabeth Genco Purvis who is a renowned copywriter and coach who is walking her talk in her www.marketinggoddess.com business. The other is Ellen Britt of www.marketingqi.com who is a Joint Venture (JV) and Internet Marketing Strategist who coached Jennifer McLean to build her list to 19,000 in less than 2 months.

I’ve hired both because 2010 will be a big year for me and my clients. I want focused, laser support on what I want to do and achieve next year and I’m willing to pay for it. I figure I’m worth it and it’s a tax deduction, so why not?

I recently announced the launch of my Brilliant Success Private Platinum Coaching Program which will begin from March 2010 and run through August 2010. If working with me closely to reach your business and life goals in 2010 interests you just drop me an email at Sharon@MarketingForBrilliance.com and request an application. I am restricting this program to no more than 8 Phenomenal Women Entrepreneurs to maintain the exclusivity and the focus of the program.
